Tech-Tips
Attention 6-cylinder Healey owners. Can’t make heads or tails out of that Smith’s gas gauge? Do you find yourself guessing/praying as to how much fuel you have left? Here is a tip from Darin Graber of the BAHC.
- get yourself a dowel, stick or something rigid that you can stick down the filler tube
- Measuring back from bottom of stick, put the following markers with permanent marker
- 1.25″ = 1/4 tank = 3.325 gal
- 2.50″ = 1/2 tank = 6.65 gal
- 3.75″ = 3/4 tank = 9.975 gal
- Voila! No more guessing!! Thanks Darin!
